RAYMOND ALEXANDER RITCHIE It is with sadness and a deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our son Ray on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at the age of 53. Ray is survived by his parents Alex and Del Ritchie; brothers, Grant (Marjie) and their daughters Kristi and Marlee of Winnipeg; Paul (Pamela) and their daughters Laura and Nicole of Calgary and wife Phyllis and her son Trevor (Keri). Ray was born August 4, 1953, and attended school at Clifton, Sergeant Park and Daniel Mac. From his early years, Ray aspired to become a police officer. Shortly after graduation from Daniel Mac, he joined the Winnipeg Police Force and served faithfully in various areas over the years. His last District was #3 in the North End and it was his favourite duty area. Due to a debilitating illness, he had to leave the Force in 1993 with much disappointment and regret, and Ray officially retired in May 2000. He received the Exemplary Service Medal of which he was extremely proud. Ray took so much of his comfort from his dear puppy Pal Cody who misses Ray and is confused by his absence. Cremation has taken place and a small, private service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Rays wish was that donations be made in his name to the Winnipeg Police Service Museum, 130 Allard Avenue, Winnipeg, R3K 0T4. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sergeants Paul Isaak and Don McLean of the Winnipeg Police Service Wellness Unit; to Barbara Buhr of the Medical Examiners Office; to officers and all emergency personnel from District #2, St. James for their swift response and kindness; to Reverend Rita Flett from Pastoral Care for her prayers and blessings with all of our family; very helpful nurse Maureen and all other staff who were so caring to all of us. Rest in Peace Beloved Son and Brother - your cares are over now. You will always be remembered for the Love you gave us all and as the kind and loving and gentle soul you were and so deeply loved always. You will be sadly missed by so many and always with Love - We will all remember you Ray. Free from pain and at Peace at last. To know we never said goodbye Will always bring regret But our hearts that loved you so dearly Are the ones that won't ever forget. neil bardal inc 949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca
