LILY SANGSTER August 27, 1920 - July 10, 2007 On July 10, 2007, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Lily peacefully passed away with family at her side, at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph William and Clara Sangster, sister and brother-in-law Clara and George Egerton, brother Arthur Sangster, niece Maureen Slaney and nephew Martin Rowan. Left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law Lydia Sangster, nieces and nephews Bob (Arlene) Egerton, Linda (Bruce) Sutherland, Gordon Sangster, Sharon Rogers (Gerry Saunders), Donald (Gina) Sangster, Doug (Carol) Sangster, James Sangster as well as many nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Lily was born and raised in West Kildonan where she went to school. She continued to live in the same house she was born in until her hospitalization on February 14, 2007. Lily was christened and confirmed at St. Anne's Anglican Church where she was still a member. She worked at Eaton's in the Catalog department prior to the Second World War, and then went to Ontario, working in factories to assist in the war effort. Upon returning to Winnipeg, she started her career in 1945 with Moore Business Forms until her retirement in 1978. She enjoyed retirement, doing several trips to England, gardening and outings with friends and family. Over the years she was blessed with many great friends and neighbours. As her mobility decreased, her Thursday outings to Fred Douglas Adult Day Program always provided a wonderful day out that she looked forward to very much. Her family would like to thank the Seven Oaks Hospital staff 5th floor Unit 5 and 4th floor Unit 12 that took such good care of her over the last months. Also, a special thank you to her many homecare workers that made it possible for her to stay in her home as long as possible, as her great desire was to remain in her home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Anne's Anglican Church Memorial Fund, 253 Burrin Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2V 1E6, or a charity of one's choice. Viewing will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Glen Eden Funeral Home. A celebration of her life and reception will be held at St. Anne's Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Avenue, on Monday, July 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111
