Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) HRYNKOW Peacefully on July 12, 2007, William (Bill) Hrynkow passed away at the Concordia Place Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years. Prayers will be said on Sunday, July 14, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St., Transcona. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 15, 2007 also at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Krochak officiating. Burial will follow at Transcona Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Bill's life will take place at St. Michael's Parish Hall following the burial. Bill was predeceased by his wife Mary, of 58 years in 2001; his sister Phyllis and brother George. He is survived by his four sons and daughters-in-law, William (Jr.) and Patricia of Winnipeg, John and Corinne of Sherwood Park, AB, Ronald and Bonnie of Winnipeg, and Paul and Tracy of Winnipeg, and grandchildren, Christopher and Katherine, Wendy, Sarah, and Brian, Ryan and Stacey, and Paula and Morgan. Bill was born in Poland October 3, 1919 and immigrated with his family to Canada in 1922. He was raised and schooled in Transcona. Bill enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1941 attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and attaining his papers as a journeyman carpenter. He was married to his wife, Mary, in Nanaimo, BC, on June 19, 1943. Following the war they moved back to Transcona where they raised his family of four sons. In February, 1982 he retired from Canadian National Railways after 34 years of service. In 1956 Bill purchased the family cottage at Ottermere, Ontario where he was able to spend many enjoyable years with his family and close friends. He loved picking blueberries, cutting wood and playing horseshoes with Ken and Ted. He was a skilled carpenter undertaking a wide variety of projects including cabinet making, and building the family home. He was a long-time member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Parish and Brotherhood and Transcona Legion. Special thanks from the family to the staff of Concordia Place for their compassionate care of Dad. Flowers are respectfully declined.
