Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREGORY PAUL VLADIMIR CHANWAY July 5, 1952 July 10, 2007 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother and friend, Greg, affectionately known as Frère by his friends. He died peacefully in his sleep the evening of July 10, 2007 just 5 days after his 55th birthday. He is predeceased by his parents, Martha and Peter of Winnipeg and is survived by his brothers, Tim of Winnipeg and Chris of Surrey, BC, sister-in-law Marilyn Duff, nieces Sarah and Nicole and nephew Matthew, all of Surrey, BC, as well as numerous cousins and relatives in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. He will also be missed by the boys, Paul and Adam. Greg was an icon of North End Winnipeg, the nucleus of a large social network he happily maintained from the basement . Greg was blessed with talent, intelligence and creativity like few others. He loved to cook for the masses, never with a recipe and always with superb results. His searing wit, gut-splitting humor and unquenchable desire to make people laugh will be sorely missed. He was also an intensely spiritual person - a fierce defender of the Christian faith, a faith that maintained him through his latter, more difficult years. Though we grieve deeply the loss of our brother, uncle and friend, he is no doubt joyfully reunited and celebrating with his parents in heaven. Till we meet again, my friend, till we meet again. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Greg's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
