AB FRIESEN June 12, 1925 - July 14, 2007 It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather early Saturday morning, July 14, 2007 at the Grace Hospital. Ab leaves to cherish his loving memory his three children Darlene (Hank), Bert (Jane) and Darvin (Edith); nine grandchildren, Tamara, Tanya, Scott, Kyle, Chris, Kaitlyn, Lawrence, Teresa and Cory and three great-grandchildren, Jade, William and Paige; two sisters, Ann Neudorf of Macgregor, MB and Marge (Bill) Dyck of Kelowna, B.C.; along with many relatives and friends. Ab was predeceased by his beloved wife Julie in October 2003. Ab was born in Morris, Manitoba on June 12, 1925 to parents Jacob and Helen Friesen. Ab was the oldest brother to his two beloved sisters, Anne and Marge. Ab was employed as a long haul truck driver and travelled throughout Canada and U.S. Ab was married to Julie his loving wife in 1951 and was able to celebrate 52 years of marriage together. Ab was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and friend. He enjoyed his home, gardening and tinkering with his fascinating homemade gadgets to his heart's content. On warm sunny days, Ab would travel about on his scooter to visit neighbors and family. Ab's warm, friendly, outgoing nature always made his visits memorable. He loved to drop in on unsuspecting relatives and friends to have a visit and see what people were up to. He was always interested and cared deeply about his family. We would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, especially Maria, for time spent taking care of our dad. Thank you also to the Homecare services. A memorial service to celebrate Ab's life will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave, with an interment and reception to follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are welcome to make donations to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R36 0K6. Asleep in God's Beautiful Garden Sheltered from sorrow and pain Someday, when life's journey is over We shall meet our loved one again. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
