MARLENE RUTH ANDERSON (nee MAGNUSSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Wife, Mom and Gramma Marlene Anderson who passed away on Friday, July 13, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are loving husband Sveini; children, Lori (Bob), Sherri (Gord), Jeff (Kim); grandchildren, Robyn, Evan, Michael, Tyler, Brittany, Lars-Erik, Dawson and Easton. She will also be lovingly missed by brother Einar Jr. (Doris); special cousin (who was more like a sister') Chrissie (Ron) and numerous family members and friends. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Inga and Einar Sr., brother Lorne and infant sister Anne Christine. Marlene was born on June 25, 1937 in Magnussville, MB. where she was raised and attended school at Hnausa. In 1958 Marlene married Sveini, and they created a loving home in Winnipeg, where they raised three children. Mom had a true love of life, and was extremely devoted to her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. Marlene was always known to be a generous, kind hearted person and gracious hostess, whose Winnipeg home and Magnusville cottage were always open to all that came by for a visit. Mom was always available to anyone who would need her. The coffee pot was always on and her deep-rooted connection to Magnusville will continue on with her family. Mom worked for many years in the banking industry, and was a favourite to many co-workers and customers. Moms loving attention and caring ways will be missed by all! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespler Ave., Winnipeg. Private burial will be held at Hnausa, MB. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB. R3E 0V9, the Magnusville Heritage Project, c/o Riverton Credit Union or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to express Special Thanks to Dr. Grenier, and her wonderful nurse Lori, also the staff of the Palliative Care Program.
