STELLA NORTH Peacefully, on Friday, July 13, 2007, Stella (Stanislawa) North, aged 79 years, passed away at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home. Left to cherish Stella's passing are her daughters, Pat (Walter) and Cheryl (Mickey); grandchildren, Trevor (Melanie), Christopher (Corene), Melanie, Sarah, Melissa, Michelle (Bill) and Eric; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler McPherson; sister Marie (Mike) Felewich; brother Walter (Tina) Zakaluk; and sister-in-law Pauline Zakaluk. Stella was predeceased by her husband Walter; daughter Constance and son-in-law Lloyd Klaprat; brother Morris Zakaluk; sister Anne Misurka; parents, Phillip and Eva Zakaluk; and special friend Nick Shendroski. Stella was born in Kamionki, Poland on May 14, 1928, She immigrated to Canada at age 9 with her mother, brother and sister to join her father in Elma, MB, where she spent most of her life. She married Walter on May 12, 1945, and they enjoyed 51 years together. Stella was a kind and generous person. She loved to volunteer her time at the Care Home and for Meals on Wheels. She especially enjoyed the company of her many friends. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, River Hills, MB with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the River Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stella's memory may be to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Thank you to all her friends, visitors, doctors and nurses at the Pinawa Hospital and Whitemouth Personal Care Home.
