WILFRED BRADLEY BOOTH August 14, 1926 July 14, 2007 Wilf passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital with his family at his side. He is predeceased by his parents, Eva and Wilfrid Booth. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Helene; daughters: Shirley (Ray) Adam, Vicki (Kris) Ramnawaj, Gwen (Lyle) Philpott, Darlene Wood and his son Tim; grandchildren: Jay Adam (Lisa), Brett Adam (Lindsay Dojack), Shamilla Ramnawaj, Sabrina Buffie (Chris), Michelle Philpott (Andrew Sirett), Michael Philpott; great-grandchildren: Noah and Nicolas Adam; sisters: Hilda Backus (John), Beverly Mychan (Fred), Mary-Lou Bruce; special family: Dan O'Brien (Vanessa Swain) and Isabel, and so many beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Wilf was born at St. Boniface Hospital and lived most of his life in St. Vital. He was a service man by trade working at Yetman's Ltd., Waddell Appliance, Manitoba Hydro and finally at Booth Appliance which he owned and operated with Helene. He was a service man in the true sense of the word always there when family and friends needed something repaired. He could fix anything! Over the years Wilf taught Sunday School, was on church council at Faith Lutheran and on the Board at South of the Border. Wilf married Helene in 1960, taking not only a wife but also her three daughters. They were overjoyed when Tim was born and the family was complete when Darlene joined in 1967. After several years of camping and visiting the Meisner farm, the family took great pleasure in the time spent together building their retirement home at Locke Bay, ON. (Just don't let Dad loose with the chainsaw!). In later years, Dad and Mom traveled extensively, enjoying golfing, fishing, the cottage at Whytewold, and Happy Hour with friends. Wilf will always be remembered for his sense of humour both his quick wit and his memory of cheesy Grandpa jokes were inexhaustible. We will never hear a cheesy joke again without thinking of him. Throughout his debilitating illness Dad was always gracious to everyone. His legacy is his family: he taught us to respect and care for each other, for our neighbours and for our country. The family would like to thank the staff at the Poseidon Care Home and the nurses, doctors and staff at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street. After the time of fellowship at the church, interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Memorial Fund, 1311 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2N 1V8 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 9Z9.
