AUDREY MERLE MONSON Audrey Merle Monson, aged 81 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Carman Hospital. Audrey was born on April 2, 1926, to Ruby and Robert Wood. She married Chec Monson in 1947 and they farmed in the Culross area and later resided in Elm Creek. Audrey loved people and was involved in several community activities. Throughout her life, she had many hobbies and interests from acting to curling to cross-stitch. Audrey was predeceased by her husband in August of 1979. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters and their families: Linda and Ross Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wendy Monson of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Donna and Bert Arthurs of Lac la Biche, Alberta. Audrey was the loving grandmother of Andrea Taylor, Tanis Landry, David Taylor, James and Jason Miller, Joel, Jared, and Amy Arthurs. Audrey was also the proud great-grandparent of Caleb, Hannah, Kirstie and Trinity. She is survived by her brother Ivan Wood and sister Shirley Davies. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elm Creek United Church with Reverend Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will follow in the Elm Creek Cemetery, Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Lung Association of Manitoba. The family would like to thank the Carman Hospital staff for their loving care and support during the past several months.
