CARL ASHAM Peacefully on July 14, 2007 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, with his loving wife by his side, our beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, poppa and great-grandpa Carl, passed away at the age of 79 years. Carl leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 45 years Olive Asham; his children, David, Kim (along with their mother Mary from a previous marriage), Cal, Wendy (Seymour), Jason (Cyndi), Kirby (Bev); grandchildren, Stacy (Victor), Tiffany, Torey (along with their mother Carol), Phillip (Stacey), Kyle (Ashley), Devin, Grant, Dana (Quinton), Madison, Macey, Montana, Allison (Cliffy); great-grandchildren, Dru, Marcus, Phillip, Alexander, Andrew, Neaveh, and the baby on the way. His brothers and sisters, Dennis (Linda), Leslie (Geraldine), Rita, Alice (Ben), Betty; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Gerry), Hubert (Helen), Harvey, Walt (Maggie), Doug (Judy), Delmar, Corinne (Steve); and all of his nieces and nephews who were all special to him. Carl was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Florence Daniels; foster parents, Ronald and Maude Asham; brothers, Laurie and Morris (Sonny); sisters, Zola, Nancy; parents-in-law, Bill and Myrtle Cochrane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rachael (John), May, Al Cochrane, George Prince, Tommy McCorrister, Fred Finnbogason, Howard Hudson; nephews, Warren and Brad, Eddy; and grandson Eli. Carl was born and raised in Peguis, MB. He started working at a young age and had many trades, where he worked as a construction worker, farmer, grader operator, and upon his retirement he worked for Peguis School Board as a school bus driver for 25 years. Father loved to work around his home, he also made sure his lawn was maintained, he and mother loved to travel, they especially loved going on trips and did everything together. It was very seldom you would see them apart, he always called mother My Sweets . He always made his children and grandchildren laugh and enjoyed having them over. Poppa always enjoyed the company of all who visited him and loved to tease, Pop truly loved his chair and loved to watch all kinds of sports. He met many people over the years and had many, many friends. WE WILL MISS YOU FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS POPPA The family would like to give a special thank you to Health Sciences Centre staff at the MICU, SICU (Ann Thomas Building), IICU, Percy E. Moore Hospital staff, Fisher Ambulance staff, Peguis Chief and Council, Peguis Health Centre, Anderson Funeral Home, and all the family and friends who visited. Mother would especially like to thank son Cal and daughter Wendy for being there the entire time. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In compliance with Carl's wishes, no viewing will take place. Both services will take place at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Peguis, Manitoba, with Rev. Barry Bear and Rev. Wesley Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Matthew's Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Dennis Asham, Greg Daniels, Rick Finnbogason, Rocky Thomas, Gilbert Daniels, Farron Cochrane. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Sinclair, Carlson Murdock, Jerry Olsen, Ebenezer Sutherland, Dennis (Seymour) Stevenson, Jimmy Sinclair, Doug Cochrane.
