LT. COLONEL IRIS LORRAINE FRASER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Lt. Colonel Iris Lorraine Fraser. Iris passed away peacefully in her sleep this past week. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, Herbert Fraser, who died just over 11 years ago. She is survived by her daughters, Allyson Sawchuk (Ted) and Miriam Efford and her sons, Ian (Kathy) Fraser and Dave (Kerren) Fraser as well as her 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Iris served with her husband as an officer of the Salvation Army for 41 years in a number of capacities including Corp Officer of numerous corps and as Divisional Commanders. Following her retirement in 1996 she moved to Nanaimo where she continued to engage in ongoing service and pastoral care within the community. A service was held at the Salvation Army Corp in Nanaimo on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 2:30 p.m., 505 8th Street. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Salvation Army.
