FRANK DOUGLAS GROUCH June 1, 1922 - July 14, 2007 Peacefully on July 14, 2007, Frank Douglas Grouch passed away at the age of 85 years. Frank leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years Joyce (Joyce Granny). He is survived by his brother Ralph, sister Lily (Walter), nephew Zenny, stepsons, Albert (Bertha), Edward (Dora), Charles, stepdaughter Beverly, his many relatives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the children he and Joyce fostered throughout the years. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter (1981) and Tekla (1986) Grouch, brother Paul Grouch (2003), his stepson Dennis Sumner (2003), sister-in-law Jean Woodhouse (2007), stepgranddaughters, Jennifer Harvey (July 1, 1977), Joyce Sumner (2003), Lisa Sumner (2005). Frank was a very hardworking farmer as well as a devoted Christian. He provided a place of peace and fellowship for fellow travellers spreading the Gospel. For over 35 years this Holy Place was known as the Upper Room , many travellers and local people who attended meetings left feeling refreshed and born again. This place will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Pallbearers will be Frank Halayko, Nick Halayko, Paul Halayko, Peter Halayko, Walter Dawybo and Brian Klimchuk. Wake service will be held at Ashern Legion Hall, Ashern, MB at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007 and funeral service will be held at the MMF Hall, Hodgson, MB on Friday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Hodgson Community Cemetery.
