JAMES MICHAEL MITEREK 1959 - 2007 It's a marvelous night for a moondance with the stars up above in your eyes Peacefully, surrounded by his family and his many friends, James lost the battle he most valiantly fought at the age of 48 years, on Sunday, July 15, 2007. Jimbo , as he was so fondly called, was a prankster who endlessly schemed and dreamed up ways to get a laugh out of his family and friends. Who knew that the blue striped top hat could move that fast. He loved being at the cabin at Falcon Lake, where you would find Jim zipping across the lake to Old Toniata Beach, to relive memories of his childhood, to snooze in the sunroom, and managing the fire pit. Movie nights with Michelle on the big screen, and a good night of crib and cards with Blair and Brandi, music and his beloved dog Jack. These memories of a lifetime will always be cherished by his best friend and soulmate Michelle, Michelle's parents, Jean and Michael, sister Debbie and niece Teagan. Jim will also be remembered by his mom and dad, James and Stella Miterek, his sisters: Bev (Doug) Radford, and their children, Hailey (Phil), Jeremy, Jillian, Shannon and Lauren, We will never forget that ride to Gimli in the big red van, wasn't that a Yabba Dabba Do Day; Brenda (Kevin) Gibson, and daughters, Coral and Breanne, and sister Diane and her children, Amanda and McKenzie. James was predeceased by his grandparents and his beloved sister Debbie. Jim was blessed with many friends who were with him at the end, and shared in our loss. The family will always be grateful for their loving presence. To all the doctors, nurses, respiratory and support staff in the M.I.C.U., surgical and palliative care at St. Boniface Hospital, and lastly Fr. Roland, we thank you for your kindness, care and compassion in helping us deal with James' illness and passing. We have been truly blessed. In keeping with James' wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of James can be made to a charity of one's choice. May the good Lord be with you down every road you roam, and may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home. For in my heart you'll always stay Forever young. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 253-5086
