VICTOR CHARKEWICH Suddenly, at his home on July 16, 2007, Victor Charkewich passed away at the age of 85. Victor was born May 13, 1922, to Michael and Victoria Charkewich in Pine Ridge, MB. He spent his early years on the farm, and in 1955 started the Charkewich Gravel business. In recent years he was a close companion to his sister, Sonia. Together, they enjoyed shopping, garage sales, watching wrestling and trips for coffee at the Sal's. Victor enjoyed sharing his time with all of his family, lending his hands and strength, whenever it was needed. He is survived by his brother Mike and sister Sonia, along with many nieces and nephews. Victor was predeceased by his brother John and his sister, Adele Hansell. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Friends may pay their respects at a funeral service being held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
