MARIE R. DONAHUE Marie Donahue, aged 88 years, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the East-Gate Lodge Personal Care Home in Beausejour. She was predeceased by husband Thomas, brothers Carl and Edward, sisters Elsa and Clara. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sons David and Douglas (Evelyn), grandsons Sean, Brad and Kyle, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was born in Winnipeg on November 24, 1918 to Jacob and Katherine Heuchert. She graduated from United College in 1939 with a B.A. and then began her teaching career which took her to Mulvihill, Hargrave and finally Beausejour. In 1946 she married Thomas Donahue and they resided in Lenore before returning to Beausejour. Marie was a very active choir member at St. Paul's United in Beausejour and St. Vital United in Winnipeg. She did volunteer work at the Red Cross and was a volunteer canvasser for the Cancer Society and the Heart Stroke fund. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Van Rensburg and the wonderful staff of the East-Gate Lodge Personal Care Home. Cremation has taken place and Marie will be laid to rest in Beausejour following a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
