JAMES ARTHUR PEEBLES James Arthur Peebles, at the Ste-Anne's Veterans' Hospital on January 9, 2007 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Janet; dear brother of the late Matthew Allan; much loved father of David (Susan Akerele), Leslie (Anthony Holland), Robert (Kim Powell) and Roslyn (Ronald Mundy). Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1911. Worked several years in Flin Flon, Manitoba prior to completing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Worked with Canadian National Railways for the remainder of his career, moving to Montreal in 1957. An avid sportsman who especially loved golf and curling, he spent many happy summers at Victoria Beach, Manitoba and nearby Pine Falls. A funeral service was held in the chapel of the Church of St. John the Baptist, Pointe Claire, Quebec, and interment in the cemetery of St. John's Cathedral in Winnipeg, Manitoba will take place in early August.
