LEONARD JACK SCALES 1930 - 2007 With great sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, Dad, Papa and Grandpa. Peacefully with family at his side, Leonard Jack Scales passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Len was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Annie, and a sister Lorraine. To cherish his memory and celebrate his life he leaves his best friend, business partner, and loving wife of 57 years, Vicky. A wonderful proud father of Larry (Lynn), Terry (Judy), Debbie (Kyle), grandchildren: Brandi, Crystal (Cory), Ashley, Kyle, Vanessa (Mark), and great-granddaughter Jayden. He also will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Doreen (Don) and June. Len enjoyed many years at the family cottage at Lake Manitoba Estates, traveling and fishing in British Columbia. He was a hard working man that always put his family first. Len's greatest pride was his family and attending activities of his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. The family would like to thank the family doctor, Dr. Werner Van Jaarsveldt, the staff of CancerCare, Palliative Care (especially Fern) at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassion, kindness and loving care they provided. Special thanks and appreciation to Minnie Porath, Nina and Steve Luhowy, Bill and Elsie Lylyk, and Linda Northam for their love and support.
