JERRY DEMARCKE It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry Demarcke on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, after a brief illness, at the age of 62 years. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by son Richard Grossman and wife Anne and their children, Matthieu and Danelle and by brother Colin and wife Vicki (McLeod) and their children, Sylvia (Pierre), David (Nicole) and Scott, and their children, Daniel, Nicole, Cassidy and Jamie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Phil, by his mother Marguerite and by his spouse Darlene Demarcke. Born in August, 1944, Jerry lived in Lorette West where he went to school. After finishing school, he still worked on the family farm and also started in the construction trade. Several years later, he changed careers and worked at Public Press. In 1978 he started working at Boeing. In his 29 years at Boeing, Jerry met many people and became a household name. His hard work ethic and his devotion to work, drove him and gave him a reason to get up and go to work everyday, no matter what the weather, or how bad he felt. He always had time and made it a point, to hear out a friend in need. Work will never stop at Boeing, but to some of you, it will never be the same. Jerry would have liked to thank everyone who came and visited him. He will miss family and friends and all his brothers and sisters at Boeing. Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the H.S.C. and Bethesda Hospital for the care he received. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church in Lorette, MB, the Rev. Fr. Armand Le Gal, o.m.i., celebrant.. Interment of cremated remains will follow in Notre Dame de Lorette Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the Knights of Columbus Hall next door to the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. Jerry, you will be deeply missed here on earth, but we take solice in knowing that you will be taking care of Mom, Grandpa and Grandma up above. We love you and will miss you, until we meet again .
