ADELLA RUPPENTHAL Peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2007, at the Fred Douglas Lodge, Adella Ruppenthal, at 87 years of age, entered eternal rest. Adella was born September 17, 1919 in Winnipeg. She attended Faraday and Isaac Newton Schools and was a longtime employee of the Department of Transport. She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for most of her life serving as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, president of the ELC Women and a member of the church choir. Latterly, she was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church. Adella was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt with a generous and giving spirit blessed with a wonderful sense of humour. She practiced her Christian faith throughout her life and frequently spoke of how richly God had blessed her. She was predeceased by her parents Christian and Caroline Ruppenthal; brothers Frederick, William and Edward; sister Wilma and brother-in-law Leslie Jamieson; and infant daughter Donna; also by her baby great-niece Isabella Gilberto. She is survived by her sisters Florence and Margaret and Rudi Sarbacher and their children Curt (Gisele), Ingrid Scham, Laura (Donato) Gilberto and their families, Kyle, Taeylor and Connor Sarbacher, Andrea and Karina Scham, and Anthony, Julianna and Nicholas Gilberto. She is also survived by niece Monica Shoeski and sons Paul and Mark, and niece Carla (Chris) Todd and children Jason (Nika) and Stacy Duguay, Ryan Duguay and Jesse Todd, as well as sister-in-law Barbara Ruppenthal, nephews David (Madeline) and Bruce, niece Pamela (Anthony) all of England and Nephew John (Blanche) of Australia, and their families. Adella will be forever remembered by her family and all who knew her. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church, with Rev. Lenise Francis officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery. The family thanks Fred Douglas Lodge for the care and compassion extended to Adella, also to Rev. Lenise Francis for her spiritual encouragement and assurance of the eternal life that is ours in Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision Canada or Canadian Lutheran World Relief.
