ACHILLEAS SIMEONIDIS Archie The Greek It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Simeonidis family announces the passing of our father, husband, papou, brother, father-in-law and best friend! Dad you have left our world of suffering to be in eternal peace and happiness with your friend the lord. Archie migrated from Drama Greece to Thompson, Manitoba, Canada in 1964 where he and his brothers founded Santa Lucia Restaurante. Archie also worked in the Inco mines. His favorite past times were fishing and playing soccer for the Hellas Greek soccer team of Winnipeg. Archie will greatly be missed by his family and life long customers and friends. He always found the time and with great joy offered a helping hand to everyone that needed him, never asking for anything in return. Our father was the best and greatest inspiration in our lives. Always there to show us right from wrong. He was a very religious man. Always talking about visions of Mother Mary. He was also known for his famous Greek sayings. We will so greatly miss his laugh and good spirits. His grandchildren were the whole world to him. Driving to Fargo to see them, hug them, and bring them chocolates. Archie treasured his wife Helen always saying she is the rock in the family. Even after working long nights at the restaurant he would wake up early to make sure on Sunday's we would go to church and he would drive his son's to ALL their school activities. He even coached his son's soccer team. Our father finally surrendered his spirit to our lord after a six year fight with cancer. Dad you were a trooper! Through all your suffering you would always tell us never to worry about you. You would say, It's a storm and it will pass. Well dad, it has passed, now we can forever keep you in our prayers and memories and look forward to the time we will meet again. Dad we hope we fulfilled your last wishes just as you always wanted them. You spent your final days in the tranquil mountains of Northern Greece where you were raised. Where your parents and brother were buried. We pray you have the peace you so much deserve! You were a good man and a good father. You will always be the pillar of our family. We will miss you so very much!! Keep an eye on us from up above. We love you always and forever. Have a good journey on your final trip. Your loving family and friends.
