SIR KNIGHT GEORGE ERNEST ROUSSON Sir Knight George Ernest Rousson passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on July 20, 2007. George was a dedicated loving and caring husband, stepfather, father-in-law, brother, Papa and uncle. George is survived by his loving wife Amanda; sons, Francis and Joshua of Winnipeg, MB, Matthew (Amber) of AB; daughter Kemi (Jason); grandchildren - Elijah of AB, Caitlin and Liam of MB, Richard (Holly) of MB; daughters-in-law Jane and Jan, brothers, Emile (Terri), Johnny (Shirley) of MB; sisters Helene and Lillian of BC, Rosemarie of QC and Yvonne of MB, sisters-in-law, Maria and Melvina of SK, Aurea of AB, Albertine of QC and brother-in-law Albert of SK; Auntie Antoinette of SK and Uncle Gaston (Lorette) of BC plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews in Canada, the US, Australia and the UK; many friends from St. Edward's Parish in Winnipeg including many Brother Knights of Columbus from Council #11005 St. Edward's Parish and his very special friend that was more like a son Roger Darbyshire (Bonnie) also of MB. George also leaves his stepdaughter Koren of BC, estranged daughter Rita and grandsons TJ and Roderick also of Winnipeg, MB. George was predeceased by first wife Anna nee (Desjardins) in 2000; sister Madeline Gaudry in 2001; brother Paul in 2002, and his precious son Raymond 2004, and his life long friend Ernie Gros 2006. George was born in Prud'homme, SK where he farmed with his parents until joining the Military. After George's discharge he worked as a welder making furnaces before going into the construction field where he worked for many years until retired. George was a very creative and skilled man, he could fix anything, and to George there was no such word as can't if you just put you mind to it, you could do anything. God grant me the Serenity to Accept the things I can not change. Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the Difference Special thanks from the family to all the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre in the ER and on Wards 4A and 5D for their care and compassion for George until the end. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully declines, if family and friends so desire memorial donations can be made for George's youngest sons Joshua and Francis to the trust fund that's been set up at Canadian Royal Bank Sargent and Sherbrook Winnipeg, MB or to a charity of your choice. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 26, 2007 (viewing at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.) at St. Edward The Confessor R.C. Church, 818 Arlington Street, Winnipeg, MB.
