JOHN NOWAKOWSKI October 20, 1916 - July 23, 2007 Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, John passed away at the St. Boniface hospital at the age of 90 years, after a short and courageous battle with illness. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 67 years, Rose, his sister Rosie, his children Ed (Doreen), and Mary (Henry), grandchildren Kathy (John), Peggy (David), Jennifer (Jamey), Kristina (Robert), Yvonne (Jason), many great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Joe and Pauline, stepmom Maggie, sister Helen and brothers Mike, Marion and Pete. The family would like to extend their deep felt gratitude to the staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital as well as the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. A special thanks to the nursing staff on 4-B at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their wonderful support and tremendous kindness. The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 28 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB. Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Father Harry Chuckry will be officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
