Born: May 17, 1973
Date of Passing: Jul 22, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTIAN RICHARD VERMETTE (May 17, 1973 - July 22, 2007) Suddenly, on July 22, 2007, Chris Vermette (age 34), loving and devoted husband of Anita Vermette, passed away at his home in Ste. Agathe. He also leaves behind three daughters whom he cherished and adored: Céline (9), Gabryelle (5) and Rheyanne (2½). He leaves behind his proud parents and in-laws, Richard Vermette and Carmelle Dumontier, and Gerry and Sandy Wiens; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Ramona Wiens. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in the Vermette, Dumontier, Wiens and Shier families will fondly remember him. His passing will also create a void in the lives of his many, many friends and co-workers, especially his childhood friend Stéphane whom he considered a brother. The most important thing in Chris' life has always been family. The first thing he did when he walked in from work was hug his kids. He lived for his wife and children and rarely missed family gatherings. He was a hard-working man who never hesitated to learn something new. He loved trucking and was so proud of his new Peterbilt that Norm provided him with at Enviro-West. He was very handy at home - building, plumbing, wiring. He undertook new projects without blinking. When he didn't know how to do something, he asked or he read. One of his many great accomplishments is the new home he just built for his family. Chris was a positive thinker; his cup was always half-full. He faced way too many challenges in his short life. Every time he was kicked in the knees, he found the courage and strength to stand tall and move on. From childhood to now, Chris was an avid hockey player. He loved the workout. Growing up, he always preferred to play outside than watch TV. A second sports passion was fishing with his friends and with his dad. He relished those quiet moments on the lake. Funeral services will be held at the Glenlea Mennonite Church in Glenlea, Manitoba on Friday, July 27 at 9:30 a.m. Many thanks to all who attended to Chris at home, in the ambulance and at the Morris Hospital. Thanks to all who offered the family support during this difficult time and to Glenlea Fellowship for their help with the service. Chris will be in our hearts forever. In remembrance of Chris, hug your loved ones often. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
