JOAN PATRICIA SCANLON -
Date of Passing: Jul 19, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN PATRICIA SCANLON 1934 - 2007 In the early morning, Thursday, July 19, 2007, our dear Joan passed away with her devoted friend Maureen at her side. Joan fought a courageous battle and is now at peace. Joan made many lasting friendships before retiring as Chief Cataloguer and Area Head Cataloguing Technical Processing at the University of Winnipeg Library. To keep in touch she continued to host her seasonal gatherings and make her famous minced meat for all to share. Joan was adventurous by nature and loved travelling to far off places, or she could be quite content just to curl up with a good book and her adored cat, K.C. A special thank-you to Barb and Gary Evans for taking care of K.C., to Maureen and Hugh Taggart for your love and support, especially over the past few months, and to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital, for their care and compassion. We shall miss our dear friend Joan, until we meet again. In accordance with her wishes, Joan will be laid to rest with her mother Evelyn and her father Joseph in Mountview Cemetery, Cambridge, Ontario. A gathering of friends in Joan's memory will take place at a later date. A friend is a gift whose worth cannot be measured except by the heart THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway~783-7211 www.thomsonfuneralhome.com
