Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH EVELYN MAY JENSEN (nee MCMAHON) On Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the Stonewall District Hospital, Edith Evelyn May Jensen passed away surrounded by her family, after a brief illness at the age of 86, of Argyle, MB. Mom was born on January 19, 1921 and was raised in Teulon, MB. Mom is survived by her four children, five grandchildren and one great-grandson: three sons, Bryan, daughter-in-law Heather Jensen, granddaughter Tara, her husband Dave McConnell and great-grandson Bradley McConnell, grandson Derek Jensen (Sara Morrisseau) all of Winnipeg, MB; Dennis, daughter-in-law Linda of Argyle, MB, granddaughters Ashley Jensen of Winnipeg, MB, Krystal Jensen (Andy Farthing) of Winnipeg, MB and Erika of Argyle, MB; Robert Jensen of Argyle, MB; one daughter Karen Jensen of Stonewall, MB; brothers: David McMahon of Inwood, MB; Roy, sister-in-law Olive McMahon of Teulon, MB; Cecil, sister-in-law Berniece McMahon of Delta, MB; Stewart, sister-in-law Ruth McMahon of Teulon, MB; Sisters: Jessie, brother-in-law Mac King of Marathon, ON; Audrey McMahon of Geraldton, ON; Brother-in-law Joe Leitch of El Paso, TX; Sister-in-law Dora Cassels of Stonewall, MB; also many nieces and nephews. She is sadly missed by her three cats Snooks, Oscar, Molly and Rob's pup Seven. Mom was predeceased by her husband Martin, March 17, 2000 who she missed dearly; grandson Dennis Jensen Jr, September 2, 1995; parents Harvey and Maude McMahon of Teulon, MB; brother Basil, sister-in-law Margaret McMahon of Teulon, MB; sisters, Ethel, brother-in-law Charlie Ulrich of Winnipeg, MB; Mary, brother-in-law Dick Leonard of Winnipeg, MB; Doris Leitch of El Paso, TX; sister-in-law Sylvia McMahon of Inwood, MB; brother-in-law Jim McMahon of Geraldton, ON. Mom enjoyed receiving notes from Auntie Bernice and newspaper clippings keeping her informed of Kyle's success with Special Olympics and her weekly phone calls with Auntie Dora. Mom's favourite day was Christmas Eve when the whole family would gather at the Farm for gift opening, special visit which was followed by a festive feast. No one left hungry. The past couple of years she found it tiresome but was glad she was able to do it and have everyone together. She enjoyed her Saturday and Sunday visits from granddaughters Ashley and Krystal and her almost daily visits with Erika so she could make Ice Cream Cones and spoil her with other treats. Mom and Dad were always thrilled to attend the weddings of her nieces and nephews and hearing of the birth of their children. Mom loved sports. She curled at the Argyle Curling Club and bowled in Stonewall. She loved watching CFL football, especially the Blue Bombers, Baseball (Toronto Blue Jays), curling, NHL Hockey and attending Winnipeg Goldeyes games. Mom and Dad were married on March 18, 1944. They lived in Winnipeg while Dad was enlisted with the R.C.A.F. In 1946, after Dad's Honorable Discharge, they moved to the family farm at Argyle where they resided until their deaths. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, MB. Private family burial will take place at the Brant Argyle Cemetery, Argyle, MB. Reception to follow at the Argyle Community Hall. Rev. Kenn Garrity will officiate. Pallbearers will be six of her nephews.
