RUSSELL (AL) ALVIN CHASTELLAINE 1936 - 2007 Russell (Al) Alvin Chastellaine aged 71 of Ladysmith, BC (formerly of Calgary, Alberta), died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his home. Al was predeceased by his parents Russell and Sarah Chastellaine of Winnipeg. Al was born in Selkirk, Manitoba June 3, 1936 and retired in Calgary as a manager for Mullen Trucking. Al is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 40 years Brenda Chastellaine (nee Hirst), son Cliff Chastellaine and wife Kimberly of Ottawa, and daughter Carrie Gray and husband Jimmy of Bakersfield, CA. Al is also survived by his two cherished grandchildren Benjamin and Audrey. Al will be missed and mourned by family members including his three sisters Millie, Sandra and Sharon, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends across Canada. Al's loss will felt by all who knew him. Al will be remembered for his heroic optimism and courageous spirit through his long battle with diabetes. It was Al's wish that in lieu of a service, family and friends would find comfort in their memories. A small memorial wake will be held in Ladysmith at a later date.
