CAROLINE MARY MILNE It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Caroline Mary Milne on July 23, 2007. Predeceased by her parents, two sisters and her much loved eldest son Barry in 2006, she leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her loss, her son Bob (Sandy), daughter Helen (James), five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born in Bethany, MB on June 19, 1915 to parents Helen and John Wilmot, Caroline spent her early years on the family farm alongside her two sisters Eva (Tigger) and Florence. She then enrolled in the nursing school in Brandon, where she became a registered nurse, something she was very proud of all of her life. Upon graduating from nursing school, her nursing career began in Gladstone, Manitoba where she became the matron of the hospital there. She then went on to Minnedosa in 1966, where she was the director of nursing at the Minnedosa Hospital. She later moved to Winnipeg to finish out her nursing career, working at The Fred Douglas Lodge. Upon retiring, she moved to Sydney, BC, travelled extensively, and enjoyed her retirement. She later moved back to Winnipeg where she remained until her passing. A special thank you to all of the staff at Oakview Place for all of their wonderful care and the compassion they showed to Mom during her stay there. Thank-you Natalie for all of the jokes, hugs, laughs, special milkshakes , and more than anything, the time and extra care you gave Mom. You were very special to her. At her request, no funeral is planned. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Rest in peace Mom, we love you and will miss you always.
