Ruby was born in Teulon where she also took much of her schooling. At a young age she moved to Winnipeg where she supported herself with a variety housekeeping jobs. It is here that she met her future husband Robert. They married in 1929 and moved back to the farm in Inwood, MB. They raised their family on the farm and moved back to Winnipeg in 1967. They settled into their home on McIvor St. for many years. After Robert's passing in 1994, Ruby moved into Donwood Manor which she called home until her passing in March 2007. She will always be known for her passion for reading, crocheting and knitting. Her grandchildren fondly recall Granny Lunches which always ended up being much more than originally expected. A simple lunch often turned into a full-blown multi-course meal. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Del and Silvia for their years of care for Ruby.
