Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCEL PAINCHAUD It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marcel, at St. Boniface Hospital, on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Marcel is survived by his daughters, Denise (Todd Mortimer) and Melanie (Gord Manning) and son, Daniel; his four beloved grandsons Jackson and Duncan Mortimer and Tyler and Cole Manning; sisters Claire (Bernie Moore) and Nicole; sisters-in-law May Painchaud and Brenda Keyser (Peter Murdock); as well as nieces Chantal (Brian Hahlweg), Dominique and Kalyn; nephews, Robert (Lise Pujo), Karl, Justin and Mackenzie. He also leaves to mourn him, his godmother Mrs. Madeleine Vinet (Dugal); aunt Mrs. Marguerite Painchaud and step-mother, Mrs. Jeannette Bothorel. Marcel will be greatly missed by other relatives, many friends and colleagues including his Sunday breakfast buddies . Marcel was predeceased by his beloved wife of 36 years, Valerie; parents Antoine and Claire (Dugal) and in-laws Edward and Mary Puchalski; brothers Robert and Bernard. Music was predominant in his life. Marcel could never resist a piano or an organ to create a new song. He sang for many years with La Chorale des Intrepides and more recently with the Sisters of the Holy Rock. He also participated in church and community choirs throughout his life. Marcel worked for the Manitoba Health Services Commission for 37 years. During his work tenure, Marcel served as Vice President of the MGEA as well as Aide-de-Camp for the late Lieutenant Governor, Dr. George Johnson. Upon his retirement he enjoyed many years as a teacher's assistant in the Pembina Trails School Division at Ecole St. Avila and Ecole Viscount Alexander. Marcel was involved in community service/volunteering at the St. Boniface Hospital and most recently became a Board Member of the St. Raphael Centre. We love you and you will be missed. A celebration of Marcel's life will be held on Wednesday, August 1st at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Dr. at 11:00 a.m with a viewing at 10:30 a.m prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lupus Society of Manitoba Inc., 105 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
