Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE RUTH WASHOOK (nee HAPKO) July 21, 1959 July 26, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the age of 48 years. Leslie will be sadly missed by her husband John; children, Donald and Kathleen; father Rudolph Hapko of Winnipeg; her sisters, Gayle Todd (Douglas), Cheryl Hapko, Carol Hapko, Lenore Pelowich (Kerry), and Glenda Hapko, who all live in Winnipeg; father-in-law Steve Washook of Calgary; and sister-in-law Kris Karnes (Benton) of Dallas Texas. She also leaves to mourn her nieces and nephews, Andrea Moser (Nicholas) and son Rudy of Langdon, North Dakota; Randall Todd of Winnipeg, MB, Casey and Austin Karnes of Dallas, Texas, Tyler Pelowich of Winnipeg, and Stacey Pelowich of Orlando, Florida. Leslie was predeceased by her mother Mary Hapko and mother-in-law Myrtle Washook. Leslie grew up on a farm just outside Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba before moving to Winnipeg to attend Red River Community College where she trained to become a Baker and Cake Decorator. She moved with her family to Saskatoon for six years, back to Winnipeg for a year and to Calgary for the last ten years. Leslie will be fondly remembered as a person who was always actively involved in her number one passion, her family's activities and hobbies. She will also be remembered for the way she enriched her friends' lives and for her artistic talent which is displayed on murals in some of the recreation centers in Calgary. A Celebration of Leslie's Life will be held at McINNIS HOLLOWAY'S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
