GEORGE ATEAH Suddenly on Thursday July 26, 2007 George passed away at his residence at the age of 71 years. Honouring his memory he leaves behind his four children and their families; his son Kevin (Sandra); children, Bob and Deb, Susan (Mark), Kurt (Ann); children, Quin and Jayden, Paul and his children, Josh and Jessie. Also honouring his memory is his ex wife Hila; his sister Eileen (Gerald); brother Carl (Nancy); children, Robert (Melodie), Mark and his daughter Carly. George was predeceased by his mother Sarah Ann; father Edward and son Darren. George was born in Winnipeg and lived his entire life in Victoria Beach. He was a multi talented tradesman. His careers included mink ranching, long haul trucking, high school bus driver and for many years a carpenter with his brother's construction company. He was an active member of the Victoria Beach Community, partaking in curling, baseball, hockey and water skiing. He was a long standing member of the Victoria Beach Volunteer Fire Department. He was semi retired for the past few years. George enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his beloved feline companions Crunch and Munch . His passions included hobby farming with his good friend Tim Flook, helping family and friends with his mechanical aptitude, cooking and bread making. He will be sadly missed. Funeral Services will be held at St. Michaels Church in Victoria Beach at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 31. Burial to follow in the Victoria Beach Cemetery. Pallbearers are sons, Kevin, Kurt and Paul, grandson Bob and nephews, Robert and Mark. Honourary pallbearers include Leonard David, Lorne and Calvin Anderson, Brian Thomas, Tim Flook, Jim Chapel, Mel Parisian, Denny Stucky and Wayne Mackelson. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Victoria Beach Sports Club. Life begins with one cry and ends with the tears of many but the memories we leave behind keep us alive forever . - Mark Hauser Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
