GEORGE ANDREW TAYLOR 1923 - 2007 It's with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on July 26, 2007. George was predeceased by his precious wife of 54 years, Eunice. Also his brother Bill, mother Florence, and father William. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Christine Carter (Russ); son Robert Taylor (Teresa); son Douglas Taylor (Norma); daughter Debbie Davis (Doug), and daughter Kathy Stodgell (Ray). George had eight grandchildren, James Carter, Jennifer Allard (Gene),Tara Burt (Jon), Krista Davis, Brina Davis, Kaitlyn Stodgell, Haley Stodgell and Brittany Taylor. His great-grandchildren Kathleen and Mattieu Lebel, Jorja Burt, Randy, Colby and Ayden Allard. He also leaves to mourn his brother Jack Taylor (Kay) from Toronto, Harry Taylor (Flora) from Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. George was born in Winnipeg on April 3, 1923, After attending St. John's High School, George enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy where he was a signalman aboard a mine sweeper stationed in Halifax. Upon returning home he joined the family business well known as Taylor's Photo, where he met his wife Eunice. They were married shortly thereafter and had five children. George used to enjoy summers as a boy in Starbuck, MB, on his uncles farm. He became an accomplished photographer and has taken many wedding, family and social engagements. George and Eunice were active members with the Manitoba Yacht Club and Kiwanis. In his later years George enjoyed participating in many local flee markets. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff of the 3rd floor at Concordia Hospital for their care and comfort. Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
