Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRETA MAY KIBBINS March 13, 1922 - July 29, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Reta Kibbins. Reta passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 29. Reta will be deeply missed by her husband of 61 years, Michael; children, Ron (Ginny), Rick (Charlene), Gary (Adele), and Lenore Mudrick (Ray). Reta doted on and was so proud of her nine grandchildren, Ryan, Andrea (Ken), Jesse (Mim), Blake (Stefanie), Dale, Olivier, Antoine, Cody and Stephanie. Reta is survived by three of twelve siblings, Vie Nicol, Marie Karnes and Lorae Charlton; as well as sisters-in-law, Theresa Kibbins, Vicki Blatherwick and Lorraine Brundrit. Mom was born in Carberry, MB, on March 13, 1922. She met and married Michael after his return from overseas and began to raise their family. After living in several small towns in Manitoba, they moved back to Winnipeg and resided for many years in Acape Villa, where they made many friends. Our mother was enthusiastic and energetic in everything she did, from excelling on the Senior's Baseball Field to working tirelessly in her garden. Mom faced several serious health issues over the past two years and although she was a bit slower, her spirit and personality would not allow her to quit. She was a fighter and an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. But more than anything, our mother was dedicated and devoted to her family and extended family. We were her focus and identity. She never, ever let us down and what a wonderful lasting example and legacy. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and Ward B5, who were, without exception, helpful and supportive. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jonathon Werier for his support, care, guidance and advice to our mother and father. At Reta's request, cremation has taken place. A service will be held to celebrate her life on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive in St. Boniface. In lieu of flowers, Reta would appreciate a donation to Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
