ROSE THERESE MARIE HAYEK 1954 - 2007 Rose Thérèse Marie Hayek (Sutherland) passed into eternity surrounded by her family at Concordia Hospital on July 30, 2007. She was predeceased by her brother Ernest in 1986 and her father Raymond in February 2007. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of fifteen years, Brian, and their daughter Sarah; as well as by her daughter Julie Côté (Roland) and their children Ava, Tristen, Angelique, Nathaniel and (about to be born) Baby Cote; and her son Peter St. Germaine (Rebecca) and their children Caitlyn, Emily Rose, and Anna; as well as by her mother Adrienne Sutherland, and brother Roger. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Joanne, nieces Chantal and Dana, and nephew Lee. Rose will be greatly missed by all her relatives, extended family, and a multitude of friends in Christ. Rose was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on September 9, 1954. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially just going out for coffee, and she would always make time for the needs of others. Her loyalty to family and friends and her desire to help anyone in need are well known. We give thanks for her infectious laugh and awesome all-encompassing hugs. Rose chose to remain in the background, and her servant-heart would often lead her to be the one to clean up, do the dishes, etc. She was a capable and avid home schooling Mom, instilling her strong faith and life's values in Sarah as they worked side by side. Rose loved so intensely, a fact that her children, grandchildren and many friends can attest to. With profound faith and trust in her Lord, Rose faced all situations with serenity, and gratitude for the good that would ultimately be achieved by challenges. She will continue to be a quiet mentor for many lives that she never even knew she touched. Her patient acceptance in her final suffering was an inspiration to family, friends and staff. Rose's family would like to express gratitude to the staff of 3 West for their attentiveness to Rose and their patience with the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Lucien Roy at St. Boniface Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007, with viewing at 9:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will take place immediately at St. Boniface Cemetery, followed by a reception in the church basement. Pallbearers are Matthew Chan, Cory Gray, Preston Horvath, Mike Howard, Nicholas Kuehn, and Isaac Malo. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to an educational trust fund for Sarah at Casera Credit Union. As for me, my life is already poured out as a libation, and the time has come for me to be gone. I have fought a good fight to the end. I have run the race to the finish. I have kept the faith; all there is to come now is the crown of righteousness reserved for me... (2 Timothy 4:6-8a) Neil Bardal Inc. 949-2200
