KEITH WELDON JACKSON Peacefully on July 30, 2007, Dad passed away at East View Lodge Personal Care Home, Neepawa, MB. Keith will sadly be missed by his wife Veda, sister Audrey Wareham (Gerald) of Neepawa, children Joanne Park (Tom) of Oyama, BC, Glen (Joy) of Winnipeg and David (Francoise) of Saskatoon, SK. Among those left to cherish his memory are Grace, Gill (George): brother and sisters-in-law Terry Brown (Viv) Jeanette Jackson, Revs. Allan Darby (Betty-Ann), Ed Darby (Marie), Clare Darby (Susan): son and daughters-in-law Allan McArthur (Elaine), Dan McArthur (Kelly), Joyce Chudyk and Peg Town (Ted): numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Keith was predeceased by his parents Roy and Louisa Jackson, brothers Alvin in the Second World War, and Gerald Jackson in 2005. Dad was born on December 21, 1933, and was raised in Clarkesville, Manitoba, and on the farm near Norgate, Manitoba. He married Grace Brown in 1954 and moved to Neepawa two years later to raise his family. He followed in his dad's footsteps as owner of the Ideal Service Station. Dad taught us to treat people as equals - the way we wanted to be treated. He taught us the value of hard work through his example. Dad always had time for his children - for church activities and as our number one fan and driver for hockey and baseball. He also taught us to snowmobile and to ride motorcycles. Summer vacations included trips to British Columbia, Disneyland and Expo 67. Dad relaxed at Clear Lake and Ditch Lake and loved to collect and restore antique cars and trucks. In 1972 the family moved to Winnipeg (St. Andrews) Lockport, where he worked for Atomic Transfer until a work accident forced his retirement. After his divorce Dad married Veda Polanski in 1999 and settled in Paradise Village for a couple years before moving home to Neepawa. In retirement Dad enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Texas, Branson, British Columbia, and especially the Maritimes. Even after the onset of Alzheimers he remained active with Veda's love and care. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Neepawa Adult Day Program, Dr. Ong, and the staff on the 4th and 5th floors of East View Lodge. Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the Knox Zion Presbyterian Church, Neepawa, MB, with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB, with friend Rev. Gladys Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. White's Funeral Home Neepawa-Carberry in care of arrangements.
