Cliff also leaves to mourn a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Eva, and his brother, Louis. During the Second World War, Cliff served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a gunnery instructor. He started his long career in the printing business at Farmer's Advocate (Lawson Graphics) at the age of 16 ending his career after 53 years. He held a variety of positions starting as a monotype casterman and spent the majority of his years as a salesman and assistant sales manager. Cliff eventually retired as a private consultant. He was an active member and served as president of the Sales and Marketing Association. Cliff made numerous close friends throughout his career. Cliff grew up in East Kildonan, an active member of the St. Stephens Anglican Young People's Group. He maintained his close affiliation with St. Stephens for his entire life. For over fifty years, Cliff was a faithful member of the East Kildonan Masonic Temple. He went through all of the chairs and was most recently honoured for his outstanding leadership and mentorship roles. After his retirement, Cliff volunteered for 13 years with the Christmas Cheer Board. Cliff enjoyed an active retirement, taking pleasure in many golf holidays with friends, especially Sandy and June. The outdoors, fishing, gardening, golf and time at the family cottage at Fox Lake were his favourite past times. Cliff will be remembered for his gregarious nature and sense of humour. He had a great love of children and valued his family. He was generous, honest and had a strong work ethic. He was committed to sharing and instilling his values in his children and grandchildren. Cliff was a man of faith with a great dedication to public service. Cliff was grateful for all the opportunities life gave him, the great friendships he made and nurtured, and the love of his family. His family, in turn, is grateful that we had him in our lives. The family would like to extend our thanks to his dear neighbours Ed, Linda, Randy and Chris for all of their help throughout the years. As well, we would like to thank the staff on 6A Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital and the staff on 2West at Riverview Health Centre for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cliff's favourite charity, the Christmas Cheer Board (Box 68, Station F, Winnipeg, R2L 2A5). A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., on Wednesday, August 8th at 2:30 p.m.
