ALBA JONES 1917 - 2007 Peacefully on July 30, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre, Alba passed away. Alba was born and raised on the family farm at Newdale. After high school she helped on the farm for three years before entering the Winnipeg General Hospital to train as a nurse. After obtaining her R.N. degree, she worked in the operating room at Trail, British Columbia. She also worked at Deer Lodge Centre until her marriage in 1946 to Harvey Jones. They started their life together in Hamiota where they lived until moving to Carman in 1949. Their last move was to Winnipeg in 1963. They raised two daughters, Margaret and Donna. Alba was predeceased by her parents and four brothers and one sister. Donna, her daughter, passed away in May 1961. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Kirkfield Park United Church, 472 Kirkfield Street. A reception will follow after the service.
