VERLIN and KATHLEEN MARCHBANK It is with shock and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lin on July 29, only a few weeks after Kay's passing on July 3, 2007. They are survived by their son Cam (Brenda), daughter Cindy Cormier (Julien) and grandson Christien. Kay Dymond was born in Neepawa on March 10, 1924, grew up in Portage la Prairie and moved to Winnipeg where she worked at Eaton's before she met Lin. Lin was born on September 29, 1920, in Shamrock, SK, where he grew up on the family farm. In 1942 he joined the RCMP and was transferred to Iqaluit, Nunavut. They were married 60 years ago on August 16, 1947. During his service in the RCMP, Kay and Lin lived in Hodgson, Gimli (where they have a family cottage), Headingley, Teulon, Dauphin and Stonewall. When Lin retired in 1965 to join Sun Life of Canada, the family moved to Winnipeg where Kay enjoyed golfing and bowling. Kay and Lin were active in the Order of the Eastern Star (St. James Chapter), RCMP Veteran's Association and the United Church as well as many other organizations. They will always be remembered as generous and loving parents and grandparents. Cremation has taken place with a joint memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9 at St. Mary's Rd. United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg. Lunch to follow. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
