SUSANNA BENNETT January 30, 1929 August 2, 2007 Peacefully on August 2, 2007, with her family by her side, our mother Susanna passed away. Susanna was a beautiful loving wife to Fred Bennett. A wonderful caring and devoted Mother to her children, Deborah (Reg), Marlene (Cliff), and John (Audra). She was the greatest Nana to Amanda (Greg), Jennifer, Sean, Amber, Chanel, Mackenzie, Keith and Griffin. She was a dear sister to Fan, Rube, Bill, Lillian and Mary. Her parents, Maude and Henry Skinner, sister Cass, and brother Tom predeceased Susanna. Sue and Fred were married in Toronto on December 18, 1954. They were blessed with the arrival of their children, Deborah, Marlene and John. In 1972, the family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was here where Sue and Fred settled and raised their family in Westwood. Over the years, they watch and nurtured the family as it grew to include two sons-in law; a daughter-in-law; seven beautiful grandchildren, and one awesome great-grandson. The word Family is a huge word. Sue lived her life devoted to her family. She had special relationships with everyone. She never allowed an unkind word to be spoken about anybody. She loved and believed in her husband for 53 years. Lunch was a special time in the Bennett household. She loved to visit with her children and grandchildren over lunch. It was during these special moments that she touched our lives in so many ways. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ramsay, and nurses at St. Boniface M/S ICU Your kindness and compassion toward Susanna and our family will never be forgotten. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Chad's Anglican Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to St. Boniface Research Foundation. Nana was the heart of our family.
