Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURENE RAE JENSEN November 21, 1925 - August 5, 2007 Rae passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice with family at her side. Mom will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Sven, along with their children, Paul (Maureen Prendiville), Karen Dewar (Rob), and Eric. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Andrew and Kevin Jensen; Mark Dewar (Jane), Nancy Berglund (Eric); Colin, Anders, Nils and Karen Jensen. Rae was predeceased by her parents, Ivan and Lulu Langtry and her sister Jean Bicknell. Rae was born, raised and schooled in the Homewood, Roland and Carman districts. She graduated with a B.A. from United College in 1947, immediately married Sven, and moved to Carman. There she raised her children, cared for her other family, and was a support for her husband and her many friends. She was a founding and life member of the Carman Kinettes. She curled, loved the Bridge Club, and her summers at Clearwater Bay, Ontario. Her life in Carman was enriched by teaching ESL to Chinese immigrants. Rae and Sven moved to Winnipeg in 1973 where Rae joined the St. Agnes Guild of the Children's Hospital and received her 25 year pin. She travelled extensively with Sven and in retirement made a winter home and good friends in Tucson, Arizona. A funeral service will be held in Carman United Church on Friday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Carman. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carman United Church, 134 First Street SW, Carman, MB R0G 0J0 or Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Victoria Hospital Oncology Department and the Grace Hospice for their wonderful care of Mom.
