BARRY VINCENT LAFORTE It is with grief beyond words that we must announce the passing of our beloved Barry Vincent LaForte on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Barry was in Ontario visiting his sister Kimberley at the time of his passing. Barry was predeceased by his father Donald LaForte, his grandfather, Wilfred Crate and grandmother, Frances and uncle Harvey. He leaves to mourn his mother, Phyllis LaForte, brother, Jeff LaForte (Shirley) and sister Kimberly Cardinell, sons, Timothy, Marlon as well as his beautiful little girl, Carmella whom he was planning on visiting just prior to his being taken from us. Also mourning are his aunts, Elsie, Jo-Ann, Valorie, Mary, Christine, Delphine, Vina and Josephine; uncles Delmar Crate, Dave , Lawrence, Gilbert Rundle and David Crate who was raised as a brother to Barry and Jeff. Barry will also be deeply missed by his nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Barry had limitless talent in Art and Woodworking. He always did his best and the art he leaves behind and the talent that he possessed will always remind us for years to come of the precious time we had with him. Barry was compassionate, a good son, brother and best friend. We will never forget him. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. Private interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Lodged The rain to the wind said, you push and I'll pelt . They so smote the garden bed that the flowers actually knelt and lay lodged-though not dead. I know how the flowers felt. - Robert Frost BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Ample parking behind Funeral Home Condolences: www.bardal.ca

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I’m so sorry to hear this. I never knew. Me an Barry shared a big house at one time. We use to have coffee regularly downtown or the village. He was looking for a place the last time I saw him,and knowing his gift for art, sent him to a friend in the Village (who own a big beautiful home in the Village) who happened to be an artist also. Well they hit it off right away, and he got the place. I still seen him regularly for coffee, and then he just disappeared. I always thought he went to Toronto, or L.A. or something like that with his talent. I’d just like to express my deepest condolences. Michael P.S. I go under Michael Paul on Facebook. I would sure like to hear from some family about Barry - Posted by: Michael Mikolajczyk (Friend ) on: Aug 07, 2020

  • Barry & I were best of friends many years ago thru a troubling time for both our souls. I have to this day a beautiful piece of canvass hanging on my wall reflecting his great talent and for this reason I think of him often. I also have a picture of two young handsome men dressed for a special occasion. His marriage. It is with great sorrow and shame upon myself I found myself in search of him only to find he had passed. . . . and his strong warm words had become unretrievable. I will remember our times together fondly and please allow me this time to say thank you for your friendship. - Posted by: Sebastian R Mitchell (friend) on: Nov 08, 2014
