HELEN HEINRICHS Helen Heinrichs passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Helen is lovingly remembered and will be deeply missed by her daughter Sherri-Dawn. Also surviving are her mother Margaretha Heinrichs of Winnipeg; her sister Anne Heinrichs of Winnipeg; brothers, John (Kathy) of Carman, Dave (Lesley), Abe (Jackie), all of Winnipeg, Peter (Kim) of Carman, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Daniel and her father Abe. Born in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico, Helen moved to Winnipeg at an early age. Helen was a woman of great resourcefulness. A mother of two youngsters, one with a serious medical condition, she used her knowledge of caring for her son to obtain employment with Manitoba Regional Health Authority as a home care worker. Her clients frequently complimented her compassion and expressed their appreciation for her care. She remained in the employ of the M.R.H.A. until her own illness prevented her continued employment. Skilled at painting and drawing, she enthusiastically created a wide variety of sketches and other creations to be enjoyed by family and friends. Best of all, though, she loved family gatherings and delighted in preparing and sharing her much-loved Christmas delights. Many thanks to the staff of St. Boniface General Hospital for their dedicated care of Helen during her illness, which was so appreciated by her and her family. The funeral service will be held at the Morris Fellowship Chapel, corner of Mary Street South and Toronto Avenue East in Morris, on Friday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. G. Goertsen officiating. Interment to follow in the Morris Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Manitoba Division of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2K8.
