IRENA KALISZ (nee PURC) On Saturday, August 4, 2007, God embraced our dearest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother into eternal life of peace. Mourning her passing are her daughters Krystyna, Helena and Alycia, her granddaughters Lissa (Doug Thompson), Alexandra, Olivia and Emma Prior and her great-grandchildren Victoria, Jordan, Paige, Iain and Taylor. Mourning her passing in Poland are her siblings Janek, Staska, Ignac and Romka and their families. Mom was born on November 14, 1928, in Poland. She came to Canada with her husband and young family in 1961. She worked in the garment industry and retired in May of 1987, when the love of her life and husband Jan passed away. She also mourned with deepest sorrow the passing of her granddaughter Cynthia MacDuff in May of 1988. The family extends sincerest thanks to the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, and the HCAs who provided our Mom with exceptional comfort and care during her illness. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, 361 Burrows Ave., Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Very Rev. Msgr. Wesley Cwieka presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Cemetery.
