Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY NICOLSON It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Emily Nicolson on Monday, August 6, 2007. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, one daughter Ann (Gordon); two sons, Alistair (Sabie) and Ray (Joyce), and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother Walter Hembroff and five sisters, Alice Beavis of Calgary, Shirley Falconbridge of British Columbia, Viola Roebuck of British Columbia, Lena Prout of Yorkton, SK, and Anne Creed of Palm Springs. She was predeceased by her husband Farquhar in 1979. Mom was born December 27, 1911 in Winnipeg. She lived all of her younger life in rural Manitoba before finally moving to Winnipeg. She was an avid curler and was involved in many different organizations, such as Ladies Aid, Ladies Auxiliary, Creative Retirement and was a founding member of the Winnipeg Art Gallery Seniors, where she served as president for two years. She loved all types of handicrafts, was a great seamstress and artist, having done many oil and watercolour paintings. She also loved to travel and has been to Scotland, Scandinavia and three times to Iceland. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was a great lover of animals. She was very proud of her family and instilled in all of us a great sense of love. Mom, along with her family, would like to thank the management and staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their loving and special care. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda Street, Transcona. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
