ROBERT JAMES MORTON Grateful for a life of blessings and after a quietly, courageous fight with cancer, we sadly announce that Bob Morton, 79, formerly of Whitemouth and Seven Sisters Falls, MB, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pat of 55 years; children Roberta (Garry) Merke, Cathy (Bill) Litchfield, Darcy (Kim) Morton, Patty (Doug) Mutual, James (Denise) Morton and April Morton (François Salmon). In addition, he was a loving Grandpa to Tanya, Jocelyn, Aaron, Jennifer, Alison, Becky, Shauna, Heather, Kyle, Christina, Trevor, Meghan, Michael, Sasha and Super Papa to Naomi, Davis, Sophie, Hannah, Molly, Aiden and Zane. He is also survived by siblings Francis (Ray) Shotbolt, Velma (Brian) Doubleday, Merle (Len) Cleland and John Morton, and will be missed by extended family, friends and Hydro-X colleagues. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna May and Darcy Morton; sister Margaret and great-granddaughter Nizana. Born May 26, 1928, Bob lived a full life that revolved around his family and friends. Always athletic, he was active in many sports and had continued to golf and cross-country ski until recently. He leaves behind a legacy of community contributions, including volunteer fire fighting and his passion for the Whitemouth Museum. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he'll be greatly missed. A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, with viewing at 1:00 p.m. A private family burial is set for a later date. Pallbearers are Bob's grandchildren; honourary pallbearers are Don Adameck, Larry Francis, Derek Graham, Cal Kirby and Ron Muncer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitemouth Museum or the Ross United Church, Whitemouth, MB. The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Ian Maxwell and nurse Anne for their compassion during this journey.
