Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE JOSEPH JULIEN BERGERON March 7, 1936 - August 8, 2007 George passed away peacefully, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre following a courageous battle with cancer. He is now in the presence of his Lord in Heaven. George will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Gerald Bergeron, Gisele Paul (Ted), Suzanne Jakeman (Gary), Lionel Bergeron (Liz Wilson), and Marcel Bergeron (Jacqueline Borsboom), his four grandchildren, Rachelle, Daniel, Paul, and Janine, four sisters, Yvonne Salter (Andy), Simone Brier, Therese Vielfaure (Alex), and Juliette Des Lauriers (Gerry) and two brothers, Leo Bergeron (Shirley) and Lucien Bergeron (Florence). George was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Marie Anne Bergeron, his brothers Armand, Arthur, Roland, Denis, and Robert, a sister Florence, and daughter-in-law, Eva Picard. George was born March 7, 1936 at the St. Boniface Hospital, and grew up on his family's farm in Haywood, Manitoba. He was a skilled operator of many types of heavy equipment machinery, and worked in construction, operated a business, and worked for the municipalities of Cartier and Grey. George was passionate about many things. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, camping and especially fishing. One of his favourite places was at home on his 80 acre homestead. Whether he was working on his home or property, or just entertaining family, friends or neighbours around the kitchen table, he was home. He was incredibly inventive, and very talented at designing and building things. George was adventuresome and fun-loving, with a teasing sense of humour. We are thankful for the outpouring of love from his neighbours, friends, and family during his illness. The family would like to thank the dedicated nursing staff of Palliative Care and the Chemotherapy Unit, and the Doctors of the Boundary Trails Health Centre. The wonderful home care staff and the people who drove dad to his many appointments gave extraordinary care and it was greatly appreciated. At the family's request, cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood, Manitoba, Msgr. Roger Bazin officiating, on Tuesday August 13 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Boundary Trails Health Centre Palliative Care or Cancer Unit.
