PAUL ELLIOTT LONG Q.C. Paul Elliott Long died peacefully on August 6, 2007 at age 89 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 28, 1917 at his parent's home in Elmwood. After completing high school at St. Johns, he obtained his Law degree at the University of Manitoba. Following this he joined the RCAF to serve Canada during the Second World War at radar installations in Nova Scotia and Scotland. He returned to Canada to begin his law practice in Winnipeg, and soon married his beloved wife Grace Edna Anderson in 1949. Throughout his life, he devoted his time to outdoor pursuits, a passion he shared with all family members. His integrity, wit, kindness and strength of character will long be missed by his daughter Marie Long (George Melnyk), granddaughter Leslie Melnyk, brother James Long, nieces Luella Farmer, Josephine Sargent, Kathleen Norris, Priscilla Harrington, nephews Russell Edwards, William Long, Richard Long, Robert Long, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Grace (1991), father William Long, mother Lydia (Langstaff) Long, sisters Priscilla Shaver, Jean Edwards, brothers George Long, and John Long. Special Thanks and appreciation is extended to Joey Sargent, Paul's niece for her many kindnesses. At Paul's request a service will not be held.
