LOREEN GARDNER Loreen passed on peacefully at home in Victoria in the early hours of August 11, 2007. She leaves her husband Jim, sons Nick (Carina), Tim (Veronica) and Tobi, two grandchildren Holly and Joey, and sisters Florence, Millie (Michael Watson), Jane (Ron Percival) and Sherrie. Born and raised in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Loreen graduated from the Universities of Calgary and Guelph and practiced as a marriage and family therapist. Having lived for extended periods in Wadena, Calgary, Montreal, Iowa City, Kitchener-Waterloo, Winnipeg and, finally, Victoria and having traveled in many parts of the world, Loreen touched many people with her kindness, determination and good spirit. The meaning of her life is spread far and wide. Loreen took refuge with the Buddha, following the Nyingma tradition, and now has joined the Clear Light. We will miss her greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be directed to the Terry Fox Foundation (www.terryfoxrun.org) or the Victoria Women's Transition House (www.transitionhouse.net). The time and place for a reception in Loreen's memory will be announced at a later date.
