Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL ANN GURICAN (nee COTTOM) June 30, 1939 - August 12, 2007 Peacefully, in her sleep, Mom passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mom grew up in Rainy River with her twin sister Karen and her Mom and Dad. In 1964 she married Dad, the love of her life. They raised their family in Dufresne on the family farm. She loved the closeness of always being together. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. When we moved to the city, Mom loved to entertain and everyone loved to gather at Carol's kitchen . Mom loved to cook for everyone and after supper we all played cards, laughed and had a great time. Mom always loved having her family around her. Mom shared the love of painting with her mother and sister, and filled our homes with her beautiful artwork. Spending time at the lake was another thing that Mom loved. We had a lot of great times at the cabin at Wanasing Beach. We would all go berry picking and then go back to the cabin where Mom made the best berry pie ever. Mom and Dad also loved to hop in the camper and go to many different campgrounds all over Manitoba and Ontario. When Mom and Dad retired they moved back to the country. Mom loved her big garden and canning all her vegetables. They spent a lot of time with Ed and Suzie. Even though they were family Mom cherished their friendship. Mom is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 43 years, Walter, her son Ernie (Dianne), daughters, Pat and Sally, her grandchildren, Chris (Holly), Kim (John) and Jazzmin, and her great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Brody, as well as many other family and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Mae Cottom. We would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the Dialysis Unit and Ward 5B at the St. Boniface Hospital and St. Anne's Hospital for their exceptional care and support. In compliance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetic Foundation or the Cancer Society. Thank you to all family and friends for being there. You helped Mom to go with peace and tranquility. We'll love you forever We'll love you for always Forever in our hearts Is where you will be.
