Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNATALINA JEANNETTE STRAPPAZZON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Natalina Jeannette Strappazzon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on August 10, 2007 at home surrounded by her family. Jeannette was predeceased by her loving husband, Arturo, her parents, Rosina and Giovanni, her daughter-in-law, Nancy, and her brothers-in-law, Federico, Silvano and Bruno. Jeannette will be forever missed and adoringly remembered by her children, son Edoardo (Marji Smith); daughter Milva; son-in-law Keith Dickson and granddaughter; LeeAnn Polusny. She also leaves to mourn her family in Italy, sisters; Yvette (son Maurizio), Delfina (son Luca) and Dina (daughter Sara); special cousins Joseph Bepi and Fernanda; and many dear friends. Jeannette was born in Labarthe, France on December 11, 1937. She lived in Fastro, Italy and Butchwill, Switzerland before immigrating to Canada in 1959. She was reunited with the love of her life, Arturo and together celebrated over 45 years of marriage. Mom was a devoted wife and a kind and gentle mother who always managed to make her family top priority while working full time in the garment industry. She enjoyed cooking, cross-stitching, reading and listening to classical and traditional Italian music. Her true passion was spending time with her family and close friends. Her generosities, overwhelming, always putting her needs patiently aside to ensure her children were well taken care of. This kindness extended outside of family as well in many ways, most often in the form of an invitation to friends who dropped by to stay for a delicious dinner while commenting it was nothing special . Mom assumed the role of gardener, whose green thumb rivaled her husband's with seemingly half the effort, bashfully denying our teasing when mentioned. Mom's compassion and gentle nature was evident to all who knew her, sweet and soft spoken, she quietly found a way into your heart. During her battle with cancer, she showed great courage and amazing fortitude. Her silent strength and determination never ceased to amaze us. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all friends who showed support and concern for Mom during her illness. Thank you to the nurses of the Palliative Care Home Team, with special mention to Ann E. for the care and compassion shown to Mom and our family during a difficult time. We would like to invite friends to reminisce and share in fond memories of Mom at a reception in celebration of her life. The celebration will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. As per Mom's wish, no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation 350 St. Mary's Avenue Winnipeg, MB or charity of choice. Mom, you will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered. We are eternally thankful and feel extremely blessed for your presence in our lives.
